Revolutionising individual and specialist education

RISE was born out of a desire to make education accessible, enjoyable, meaningful, relevant and accessible to everyone and rooted in a person-centred and wellness philosophy. We understand the importance of a sense of agency, empowerment and purpose in developing self confidence and self esteem. We know that healthy living and wellbeing is a cornerstone for learning capacity.

OUR SERVICES RECOGNISE THAT:

•  Each person’s experiences are unique, especially those with neurodiversity, and so achieving wellness means something different for everyone.

•  Young people with neurodiversity need their sensory environment to be accessible and adapted to meet their needs, enabling them to focus on learning.

•  They need time to build relationships and trust before moving on to the next steps.

•  They need to be involved and have control and ownership over their learning experience.

•  Providing the opportunity for a personalised transition in a timeframe informed by the needs of the young person is an essential foundation for progress.

•  Bespoke requirements must be assessed dynamically to meet developing and changing needs.

•  Individual and bespoke pathways lead to more successful learning outcomes and the fulfilment of individual potential.

•  The stressful, high-pressure, and fast-paced environment in which our young people live and learn and the impact society has on their mental health and natural resilience is not sustainable without intervention and strategy. Managing these challenges is essential to enable learning.

•  Inner strength and self-esteem are essential.

WE HAVE CREATED THE RISE MOVEMENT TO ADDRESS THESE EDUCATIONAL AND PERSONAL CHALLENGES
As a result, we deliver varied programmes that generate sustainable resilience, offer choice, and promote empowerment for anyone struggling in a traditional classroom setting. We embed accreditation and qualification into personal development and preparation for adulthood. We explore the reasons that underpin barriers to engagement with the world around our learners and develop bespoke programmes around them to address that. We teach in accordance with identified initiatives and measure outcomes and to make every student feel empowered and positive about themselves every single day. We strive to make every association with RISE synonymous with feelings of wellness, positivity, resilience, strength, and self-worth. We support our young people to stride forward with confidence, agency, and ownership into a better, brighter and more purposeful future—built especially for them, by them.

OUR CORE VALUESEverything we deliver is seated in our core values of

Kindness - Determination - Positivity - Resilience - Growth

RISE is a legacy to Sandra Murphy, who made it her life’s work to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and bring them happiness and a sense of purpose and belonging. Each year, each of our provisions bestow an award in her name to the student who has most consistently demonstrated these values throughout the year. We are proud to continue her remarkable work.
